Default Is this the right tire size

I have a 99 cobra lowered 2 inches...I just got new 18x9 and 18x10 rims and I need some tires, the guy at america's tire co told me to get 245/40/18 (front) and 275/35/18 (rear)

how does that sound, my car already scrapes on every****in speedbump and steep driveway so I don't want anything to low profile...what do you thin about 40 front and 35 rear...also the width 245/275 is supposed to fit perfectly for optimum handling

My car is lowered 2"s also and I run 335's and 315's in the rear (315's at the moment) and I never rub anything. I also have 275's up front and again... I never rub anything. Thats the setup you need.

They are rolled slightly. But that was for the 335's/ The 315's dont come close to rubbing at all.

what about the vertical width of the tires (35 vs 40)...and why would you want your front tires to be 275...?

275s up front for those times when the road turns. LOL

Seriously, most on here only talk of going fast in a straight line. Some of us want a balance of both. Trust me, jdaniel does not want to lose control of that beast he drives, not with 642 to the tires. I think he drives it daily, but I'm not sure.

What does that mean?

The inner lip on the fender edge is 'rolled' up and out of the way of the wider tires. There is a machine for it if you want to rent one, or a shop can do it. If done right, no one will ever notice and it doesn't hurt the car at all. It allows you to use really wide meats on the back (and/or front) with lowering springs, without damaging the tires.

I'm selling my rims and tire, because I need wider tires. After several discussions with my dealer, we came onto 245/40/18's (front) and 275/30/18, so I'd stick with that. Just my .02. That's the route I'm going to put more traction on the road, otherwise I'd keep my brand new wheels and rims I have now(but they don't stick well with the supercharger addition), lol

245 is too skinny in the front. Your rim will stick out in front of your tires... Go 275 in the front and a minimum 295 in the rear. That would be perfect for your application...
