The 97s have 215hp stock. With U/D pullies and t/b and plenum, you will not be at 250hp. You may make it to 200 approx. Get gears, they make a HUGE difference in the cars and gets them off the line better. I personally would go with a SN95 over the Fox. It is just your opinion. The 5.0 is awesome but I like the SN95 stylin better IMO. It is your choice.

Gregs...your looking at crank hp...because of the automatic, decrease that by about 20% (15% for a manual). Look at my sig, as our cars are almost the same, except i dont have a vert. With all of my mods ill be lucky to put out 230 rwhp [:@]

It wont decrease hp, hes saying you have 215 at the crank, and with pulleys, CAI and throttle body and plenum you will prolly get to about 210rwhp if your lucky. At least thats what im hoping cause thts what i plan on doing.
If you want a chance at getting to 250rwhp do all that stuff get a PI swap and a little more, oorr just get a supercharger.

alrigth, thanks guys. How much are PI heads? whats a good size cam for this car? and how much are the set? I have my 68 to mess with and get HP from. But i still want a everyday thats got some desent ponys. the stang just got called up for emmisions, i hope it passes. when i get it, im opening up a P.O box in some small *** town...lol

out of courousity, how my hp do yu think this car is puting out. its my friends 89 5.0 hi-po vert. he says he thinks like 300-325hp. I say no way. its got mac headers/x pipe with flow 40 series. edelbrock 70mm throtel body, cold air intake. gears (unshure of the size) with full locker, and a tremmic t-45 tranny. he eliminated all smog stuff. he has underdrive pullies but has yet to put them on.
