No traction at 40 degrees
hey guy i just had my 275/40/17s mounted and i gave it time to wear in and everything but still in specialy first gear i floor in and the tires spin madly the car bearly even moves. Nope no ice on the road. They are bridgestone fusions. So i wondering can cold weather really mess up our traction that bad? Let me know how ya'll drive
thanks.

my stock 245's suck in the cold.... when i was n/a with it warm out, i could spin em when i nailed it... but with it cold i didnt have to get on it much and they would spin... now with the damn blower i can think about gettin on it and they spin. [:@]

Of course the weather has a major effect on traction, the rubber is cold and way too hard for traction!
There is a reason everyone heats up their tires with burnouts at the dragstrip.

Dude....winter tires are not just for snow...they are to compete with the cold as well...normal tires become to hard and tough to grip...meanwhile winter tires are built with a different type of rubber. And as for all-season tires, they are not all-season...they work for 3 of 4 seasons...you'd be better off getting a nice set of racing tires for warm weather and a set of higher profile winters for colder months, even without snow.

Yeah i will see i was recomendes those so i just want to test them out. If they really suck in the warm then ill just buy some drag radials with 15 inch steelies or something just for drag. thanks guys

tell me about it. its been about single digits here all week and at 60 mph on the highway i go sideways if i punch it. i have nittos on there and they suck in the cold. its away now for winter but i mean its no good.
