stock block handle 450 hp. 9psi should be fine, just get a good tune. 9psi should put you about 400-420hp(depending on tune)

It's not always about how much boost, but how much horsepower you are going to get from the boost. Yes, 450 Hp is all a stock block can take.

I have been making just under 440 rwhp in my 01 S281 for some time now, almost 30,000 miles since the blower install. The car is tuned to the hilt, though. I am quite confident I could get another 100k out of it, np.

Awesome! That gives me a little hope. I figured if I got 20K with a blower I'd need a horseshoe up my ***. You better knock on wood now. : )

I am running a Procharger P1SC, making 9 psi. I'm really not worried at all. The keep the car in perfect tune. It is true blue. I have pics of it posted in the Saleen section. https://mustangforums.com/m_835138/tm.htm

Agreed. Just be safe and take care of it and you'll have no problems...

To be perfectly honest, I think you could run 475 rwhp for some time, properly tuned. 475 at the wheels is quite a bit, and probably more than the accepted 'safe' level for 2v 4.6 motors. But I think it could be done with good results for quite some time, as long as there were no detonation issues, and the fuel delivery system was good.
