I will agree with you nanaki on the not being able to really tell on a dyno. But i have to say that in the long run it is better to have ram air opposed to cai just because of the simple fact that 2 cars with exact same mods except for one has ram air and one has cai, the ram air car will win in the 1/4. Just my oppinion. and it cost me approximately 800 for my hood after all labor and paint but you can get ram air systems for cheap: http://www.marchperf.com/pg32.html#46ramair

That one is 140 bucks and rated at 15 hp. lets just say it is only 10 hp. for sake of argument. I'm no mathmatician but 14 bucks per horse power isn't too bad. compaired to cost of other induction mods like tb or plenum.

I know. If i had the money for a charger, i would buy one but my engine also has a few more than 100,000. Everyone has their own oppinion i guess, but i was just surprised that not many people went the "ram route". I think march would sell more of those ram air kits if they made that hose look a little better. It looks like a dryer vent hose and isn't very smooth on the inside. They should use a solid peice of plastic tube.

meh.. most people when they want ram air, they want a shaker or a setup like yours. like i said, majority of people get it because it looks neat. and yeah, i think it looks hot.

You need to take whatever most of the mod bolt on manufacturers say the gains are and divide by 5. Then you're pretty close. Almost all of the CAI kits claim 25hp. Another 25-30 for pulleys. But i doubt if anyone has ever come close to those gains.

ORIGINAL: pj1010

I know at least one other person has it. He has a white GT, don't remember his name.

That is probably why few people have it...who needs power cruising in 5th?
i have it.......and i notice power difference only at fairly high speeds.

ram air is not essentially a cai.......ram air IS a cai......all cai means is that it takes the air from outside of the engine bay.....outside of the hood or inside of the fenderwell it's all cold air.

I think the only true ram air system was on the WS-6 since it rams straight into the intake manifold. No twists or turns or bends.

O O I know how to make ram air add like 50 hp! Take two leaf blowers (one for each ram air slit) and stick em on your hood right...then turn your car on and turn on the leaf blowers....it's practically a dual supercharged system!!! lol try it I dare you

O and about that march system...good luck driving in anything but pristine weather....god forbid you go through a puddle sucking up air 3 inches from the ground! and even if it's nice a squirrel could get sucked up into that fugger!
