Default 99 cobra engine

how much hp will a stock 99 cobra engine hold? im just wondering if i should rebuild my motor when it goes or get a 99 cobra engine. i want to get about 420-450 rwhp. my cars got 96k miles on it and i dont kow if it will hadle that hp for long. plus it will bea around a year before i get a s/c on it

people on this forum have supercharged their engines with well over 100k miles on them with no problems. don't be afraid. unless you didn't take care of your car for all of those miles.

yea its been kept up good. i want a vortech instead of a kb cuz i want a little more up top because most of my races are on the highway so i dont need as much bottom end. nanaki what mods and do you have and what numbers aer you runing cuz i know you have a vortech. thanks

yea, its ok to have 100k on the engine if it was well taken care of. i would replace minor things though if the motor started having major problems. i think the cobra motors have about the same limits on them and cant take as much boost because of having higher compression.

thanks i just didnt want to blow the motor the first couple months afer i put it in. racer what mods do you have and what kind of s/c do you have. you have the number i want. also about how much was put into it to get that. thanks

ive got a post around here with what exactly ive got in the car. cost me around 6k for everything. i got the blower used....

310lph fuel pump
FFRP 3.73 gears
BBK LT headers
BBK catted X pipe
Borla catback
SPEC stage 2 clutch
steeda upper and lower control arms
full length sub frame connectors
steeda caster camber plates
eibach pro springs
blu thunder short throw shifter
75mm Accufab Throttle body
C&L upper intake plenum
all synthetic oils throughout drivetrain/engine
water wetter in radiator (helps motor run cooler)
10% antifreeze/90% distilled water in aftercooler
battery relocated to trunk
then just a chin spoiler, roll bar, and other stuff the last owner did to the car.

ive got the stang on a daily driver tune also that is tuned down to 408rwhp... having 440rwhp for extended periods of time can mess up the motor and blow it. the limit of the stock internals is 450rwhp and 440.1rwhp is really close.
