Ws6, SS, Gt
Today I took a cruse down by the local car dealer. They had a 02 black SS, and a 01 Ws6..I know this is a mustang forum, BUT there is few lt1, ls1 ls2 owners on here.. Is there any diffrence in the too..which is better, the camaro ss has a few mods..it was the owners son he got a vette now..they want 27 for it and the Ta has 32k miles and they was 22 for it..Thinking about getting rid of the Gt and getting one..i love black cars ! I love the mustang but man them Ls1's are nice.. and the t tops would be nice in the summer! Thanks guys!

The ls1 is better than the lt1. Those are dealer prices. You can get a much better deal from somewhere like ls1.com or ls1tech. I was thinking about getting one, but decided against a car payment.

If you have to trade it in, then don't do it. You will get raped on trade in esp since im guessing you are still paying for it, plus dealers mark those cars up far too high. Better off just supercharging your car.

Thats what I planned on doing.. I almost have the money, it just that you dont see alot of cars like that around here its a little town and not a very rich area..mostly steel mills and they are dying off slowly..So i dont know i just wonder what they had power wise.. I just want to be able to stomp the competition..lol Kb should do it for me I guess, change my mind everyday..lol thanks for the input

In my opinon, the WS6 has a much more effective hood scoop than the SS. Open the hood of the SS and you will see that air enters the scoop, then travels back through a set of channels to the back of the hood and is led around and forward and into the air cleaner - the air has to t u r n a r o u n d and that will slow it down and the long pathway, right above the engine, will heat it up--bad things. By contrast, the WS6 has a big ram air opening right in front of the air cleaner, no changing direction, no heating. For that reason I imagine the WS6 has 5 more HP when its gets going. Incidently, we put an aftermarket ram-air hood on our 98 Z-28 that was very WS-6 like and it helped about .1 in the quarter (of course it was fiberglass instead of steel and cut weight but about 1%, too.
You didn't say how many miles on the SS, but asusming that is close, and styling preference aside, I'd lean toward the WS-6 because:
1) the difference in air intake mentioned above
2) the $5K price differential means you could buy a lot of mods yourself
3) the owner's son's mods may mean the SS was abused - I don't like to buy other peoples mods unless I know they did them well and didn't abuse the car.
