I have a 98 Mustang GTwith a 5 speed, and was curious if anyone might know what gear ratio I have. When I am cruising 60mph, the rpms are showing 2000. I have the stock wheels and tire sizes on the car. Reason for asking, is I just baught the car, and I have no idea what has been done, other than it has got underdrive pulleys and a short throw shifter. I can tell by looking at those parts, but I don't want to have to go through the trouble of taking the inspection cover off the rear end to find out what the gear ratio is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

probably 3.23's. you don't need to take the rear cover off.</P>


Jack up the rear, tunr the pinion and count the revolutions of the axles it the pinion turn 31/4 tunrs you have 3.23's just over 4 tuns 4.10's get it...</P>

look on the tag on the cover. most stock ones have3.27s.i got some 4.30s for you $100.00 plus shipping,3000 miles motorsport brand.

Most GTs come with 3:23s.

I wouldn't have asked, but the inspection cover has been removed at one point in time, as it has silicone used for the gasket. Thx for the offer hotrodman, but I think that might be alittle to low for me, as I use the car for an everyday driver right now. But things can change pretty quick. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">
