There's not a certain mileage. Does it feel like it needs to be rebuilt?

I have a 96 and i had to rebuild my transmission at 72k miles it was starting to grind through the gears, but if your trans doesn't show any sign of wear then you're still ok like matts00gt said not a certain mileage. A tranny could last 15,000 or 150,000 you never know.

If you change the fluid regularly say every 20k, and don't dog it too badly, it might out last the car.

Fluid is cheaper than metal!

I've got a 97 GT 5 speed with 107k on it and it's just startin to grind 2nd and 3rd (way out of the free repair miles) and I'm gonna do them myself come spring. My parents bought me a rebuild kit with the synchros for Christmas! :-)

have a great one all

how you getting the TSB work done? let me know how it goes please? thanks...

my 3650 tranny is grinding/winding with the clutch fully depressed... might be my quadrant too... but it only does it when the tranny is cold..
