X-pipe's alone can add 10RWHP with stock mufflers still bolted on...a full exhaust with the right mufflers & x-pipe can look forward to 20+RWHP over stock.

I think you missunderstood me. What I mean to say was that 229rwhp is going to be from a stock GT. The added rwhp from a full exhaust would net the 243rwhp he was talking about. Sorry if that was a little confusing

Sorry the response is so late. I can't login at work anymore!!!

The 223 and such was stock with nomods and 4000 miles. With the X-pipe and catback plus somemore miles I am hoping to be in the low 240 range. Just got to wait for the next dyno day.

BTW Dan...The car is much louder now that system is breaking in. I F'N LOVE IT!!!

A lot of the stock 99-04 manuals are dynoing 224-230rwhp, the automatics a bit less around 215-220rwhp. If you assume a 15-16% drivetrain loss for a car with the 230rwhp, that translates to about 270 at the flywheel. These cars have a lot of variation for some reason. But yeah, from what I've seen and read, the 240's are attainable with an exhaust setup.

A good condition 85 HO makes around 225 at the crank, 200 solid at the wheels. As for the topic, my 2003 GT makes 260 at the wheels with Hooker headers, Flowmaster Mufflers, K&N air filter, and a chip. So 240 at the wheels for a stock would be about right.

My friend did a base line dyno run with his 02 Gt. He got 228.5hp and 272.5 ft lbs of torque. After he removed the air silencer this gave a net gain of 2.2hp 1.1 lb feet of torque. Then hedid a runwith the K&N FIPKII. Suprisingly from the base line he netted 9.3hp and 6.3 lb feet of torque. We had a set of pulleys on hand so we threw them on and gave it a go. His max power went to 242.3 hp and his torque went to 285.9. That is 13.8 hp and 13.4 lb feet of torque over stock.

So throw on a full exhaust and a chip and another 20hp gain is easily achieved.

Note all figures are at the wheels.

I have an 02 Automatic GT with just over 11,000 miles dyno checked at Mustang Magic in Deer Park New York. At the time of the pulls, I had a MAC Cold Air pipe, Shorty Headers, and a Mac Cat back with 3.5" tips. The second pull on the dyno yielded 226.8 WRHP (the first pull was messed up because condensation built up in the engine causing water to spray out the exhausts)Remember, this is an AUTOMATIC. A month later, I had a Magnaflow catted X pipe, pullies, C&L plenum and BBK 75mm TB installed. The combination of a Full 3 piece exhaust and free flow intake - pipe, plenum and big TB worked synogistically and the engine produced 267 rwhp. Unforturnately, I don't know what the actual stock rwhp is, but I would think it would be around 216. In that regard, I added 41 rwhp with the 7 bolt on mods I've done. Next up: a computer flash. Another 6 wrhp?
