Facory H-Pipe vs Aftermarket H
NO2, speaking of harassment, last year I was crusin in my 94 K-1500 with the usual off-road package. I cut the mufflers off because... well I wanted it LOUDER. The cats stayed in place. I was buzzin thru a yellow not speeding though when all of a sudden I got that po po feeling and sure enough that bitch pulled me over. "Whats the problem officer?" Well your runnin headers and... it's loud. He crawled under my truck and gave me a ticket for no mufflers. What a royal PITA! Anyway just my two nicks.

66 Stang I think what you want to know is your factory Mustang has an H pipe that goes through very restrictive Catalytic converters. I do not know what Texas has for regs on running emissions and inspections but in many states now you have to pass a visual and sniffer clean air test that your car wontpass with an off road, (straight thru) H, X, or pro chamber pipe. As far as cat back, that is the flowmaster system you put on from your converters back thru your stock replaced mufflers, and an off road pipe would be louder, headers deeper sounding. As far ashoisting up the engine on a 4.6 to install long tubes I do not know. If you can change your own h-pipe for inspection once a year its not that big a deal, screw the cops, do the speed limit in town!

How bout the new SLP Loudmouth system. With it's resonators rather than actual mufflers it's definitely louder than most any other catback. I've heard it and with the catted x-pipe it sounds great. Check the ad for LMPerformance here.

Here in TX regulations are not that harsh.............thats the plan I have, I kept my stock H-pipe (with the four restricting cats) and I'll change it back when insp time comes.
