grinding 3rd gear!! Why???
My problem just started today on the way back from the track. Everytime I shift fastinto 3rd gear, it grinds. It never grinded before. If I shift slow, it goes in smooth. What the hell is the problem?? Shift fork?? SHort throw shifter possibly?? Thanks for any help!!

synco is going bad and I only have 3000 miles on the mach??? If so, what will this crap cost me? (EDIT) I just realized another guy on here is having the EXACT problem as me.. Guess this happens frequently.. Will this stop on its own like the other person stated?</P>

I don't doubt it but maybe you need a lil more practice..only other things is check the clutch fluid as well as the tranny.. I'm not sure if their putting synth. oil in them yet, and maybe the cable has stretched or you have bent the clutch fork..check the adjustment of the shifter also<edited><editID>vfast</editID><editDate>38003.9146180556</editDate></edited>

Obviously you have not a f**king clue as to what you are talking about... Clutch fork??<IMG src=smileys/smiley32.gif border="0"> Practice??<IMG src=smileys/smiley13.gif border="0">Adjustment of the shifter?? The adjustments areto stop overshift, and have absolutely nothing to do with grinding of a specific gear.I HAVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM!!. I didn't buy a Mach one and not know how to drive! *L* Anyone else have any feedback besides dumbdick here??</P>

Redneck, Vfast is right. You may have bent the forks, which while you shift quickly will cause grinding. But I believe most aftermarket shifters have metal stops to keep from overshift like you said and preventing that damage. It won't hurt to have it looked at. </P>
If that isn't the issue, should like you must have abused your tranny alittle too much or it wasn't in top shape from the factory. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>
