N02, look under my username

I wouldn't mess with an F50. Maybe some mid 80's Ferrari's & such I'd mess around with. The only car I raced was the Lotus and those weren't much to brag about..

haha ive raced a twin turbo lotus esprit, an f50, a few 360 modenas, a diabloand a testerosa.. and you guessed it i got wasted by all of them. The 360's were the only ones i was semi close to. I live in phoenix which is right next to scottsdale AZ and anyone who lives around here know that especially when the rich people come home for winter.. theres all kinds of exotics here. The f50 was when I lived at my parents house in Seattle though. When I moved down here for school I didn't have any friends or ajob and didn't have school for another couple weeks. Plus, I'm a huge night owl so that only leads to one thing, driving around aimlessly for hours at 1 in morning looking for someone to race.

F50! I want to see one of those in person, but I thought there were only 349 made. So I am surprised that you guys have had the opportunity to race (and get smoked by) a F50. It would be worth it just to see it run I guess though. Anyway, here's my source:

Yeah me too! I couldn't beleive I found one on the street. I have seen two of them out in Seattle. There's one on display at a place called Park Place motors. It is an exotic car dealership and show room. Basically, they have a back building full of rich peoples cars that they let showcase there. To give you an idea my parents live about 15 min away from Bill Gates' house on Lake Washington. Then the other was the one I saw on the street. I wouldn't really call it a race... I saw it coming towards me going the oppisite direction so I flipped a quick U-turn and chased after it. I got up next to it and matched speed in about the mid part of second gear. So, naturally, I reved it up, punched it to see if he would go. I tried acouple more times but he was just cruising at excactly the speed limit. I was about to give up and stuck it up into third and just then i look over and hear a huge WOM WOM WHAAAAAAA. It had to have been the greatest thing I have ever seen. I punched it to the floor and felt like I was standing still. He slowed down gave me and my friend a smile, so we gave him a respective jaw dropped blank stare, and that same face didn't go away for a few hours. The thing sounded so mean. Like 5 crotch rockets pinning it in perfect unison. (probably just as fast too). Anyway, I think the website to that dealership is http://www.parkplaceltd.com/

well it's a high compression, 360 cubic inch 60 valve DOHC V12, so, yea, it'll make some sweete noise, and with 513 bhp, and a 0-100 time of 6.0 seconds,it'll be hard to catch.

The Magnum PI's,are more commonly known as a 308GTS, and the later years of Magnum, 328GTS Quattrovalve. About 14 months ago, there was a 308GTS for sale at D&M Corvette and I was considering picking it up. It was only $30,000. I took it for a ride, all I can say is...WOW was that disappointing! It was God awful slow. They run like high 14's. It rattled, and just didn't feel tight. Shifting it was a chore, and I would imaging driving it in traffic would make your left leg 3 times the size of the right. Just not what you'd expect from a Ferrari. Apparently the newer ones are completely different cars. Much nicer. Although, the 5 mile ride I took it on, you wouldn't believe the people looking and pointing.

The cool factor wasn't enough to justify living with this car. After the fact, I was talking to one of my customers who happens to be a Ferrari freak, and has a "few." He said that V8 that was in those cars is the most reliable engine that Ferrari ever made. However...Oil changes are $1400, and he pointed out that the maintenance is outragous! If it needed a clutch, it would probably cost somewhere around $5000. Just 1 head on that car is $6600. This is why you can find '85-'90's with 10,000 miles on them. They're amazingly expensive to maintain.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a newer one...Like a 355 Spyder, or even an older 348...Someday...When I'm a billionaire!!! HA HA HA!
