Default Keyless entry stopped working, reset?

After a long battle with a poor ground on the battery, I discovered that the remote for the keyless entry no longer works. The alarm arms with a key but the remote does nothing. I'm assuming I need to reset my remotes. Does anybody know how to do it? I have found the following, but im not sure where exactly the "large box" is. Is it actually in the trunk? Which panel do I pry open to get to it? All I see in trunk is my spare .. hehe :

"i got a new remote off ebay, got this with it. I have also hered from other that this is the way it is done.

94-98 FORD MUSTANG

1. Remove the inner trunk panel on the drivers side of the car and
look for a large plastic box with a gray plug with 2 connectors.
It will have a GRAY/YELLOW & WHITE/YELLOW wires
2. Turn ignition key to the run position. Short the 2 connectors
with a screwdriver and the locks will lock and unlock to
confirm you are in programming mode

3. press any button on transmitter==locks will lock and unlock to
confirm acceptance of programming code.
4. At this time do the same for any additional transmitters
5. Turn ignition off and locks will cycle again to indicate end of
programming mode

maybe you should replace the battery in the remote first.

i tried both remotes. Wouldn't it be a strange coincidence that both of them ran out of juice?

yeah you have to short out that box in the trunk and hit a button on the remote. dont need the car to be in on position though.

All I needed was to add remotes to my receiver. I got new units for about 1/3 dealer price for my 97 & 03 Mustang on -

http://www.ThePartsYouNeed.com

They seem to have remotes & instructions for everything on their site.
