Default 87 89 or 91?

Someone brought the topic to my attention that my Stock 4.6L 2002 GT would run better on the actually more potent 87 grade fuel than it would on the faster igniting 91 (or 91+) grade fuel.

If i can run on 87 and see better, the same, or little to less difference (but not signifigantly less) horsepower, someone let me know, because 87 is about 20 cents cheaper.

You don't need 91 if you don't have lots of mods on the car. You would see little or no difference in performance.
