Default timing adjuster octane

is it true that when you get a steeda timing adjuster you have to start using 91+ octane, i have heard that from a few people with the adjusters... just wondering if its true or not

Very true. If you don't you'll run into detonating problems. One guy on Mustang forums blew 4 of his 8 pistons at the track just trying to see if he could run 87; had photos of the pistons and everything. But yeah, high octane is a must. The good thing about the adjuster though is that you can change it back to 10* is go back to 87 if you want. Just make sure you don't advance it again without having the higher octane in your tank!

Agree, I have the Steeda adjuster and from now on I'm using 89 and up....

why does the manual of the mustang say that they dont recommened to use 91 octane fuel?

for the same reason, the factory timing...but who cares, nothing havd ever happened..
