Switch from GT to cobra?

Switch from GT to cobra?
I currently have a 99 GT convertible w 85k miles on it. I have spent some $ on upgraded brakes, tuner, CAI, shocks/struts CC plates, lowering springs, short shifter and a couple other small things. The car is green and tan however I'd much rather have a black car. Enter the 99 cobra. I am going to look at a 99 cobra black with racing stripes, 67k miles asking price 13,900. Now the stock cobra is probably faster than the GT with mods, but I'm not sure I want 5 years of payments, plus I've heard some bad things about 99 cobras such as defects, etc. Also does the 99 cobra have an IRS? Not sure what to do. Would you guys keep the GT or go with the cobra? thanks for input.

Look for the green or blue dot on the intake manifold next to the alternator. That means "the fix" was done. Aside from that, the only meaningful changes are the seats and rear bumper.
