Default Guys with TR3650

Ok my car is grinding very bad into 3ed gear it is bad!! I am so pissed if it is not one thing it is another with this car. So have any of you had this happen? I am sure some of you have.I do not have any warranty on the car but can I take it to the dealer with the TSB # and get them to fix it? I mean they know that somthing is wrong with these 3650s but yet were to cheap to make it a recall so do they just fix the ones that break? I dont know but I am going to go to every dealer in the area until I find somone who will know this is bs and fix it. Ok I am done with my rant what do you guys think

3rd gear sucks on those trannys. Your gonna have to get it rebuilt. A friend of mine blew out his 3rd gear synchro after 50000 miles or so.

It is a synchro I agree. Been there, done that. Whether a dealer will honor something on a TSB will depend on a lot of things. Contact Ford directly and get hem involved right away. I have had cars in the past that I had received warranty coverage on with regard toa tranny problemthat occurred 15000 outside of warranty because I worked with the MFGR and presented my case in a factual and professional manner. Get in touch with the area MFG service representative as well. A dealer Service Managershould be able to provide you with the contact. They are more apt to do it understanding that you are only trying to get what you are entitled to and not that you wish to grumble about their service. Good luck. Otherwise plan on a rebuild or at least a sycnhro replacement.

I don't think they are gonna do a free fix via the TSB with a 10 PSI blower on there...

even if you can get them to fix it, a lot of the time they will just replace the entire tranny, resulting in the same problem. You have to show them the TSB that actually replaces the synchros and the second and third gear and shaft. My car is out of warranty, but I plan on taking this issue up with Ford to see what they say. In the meantime, im runnin Royal Purple Synchromax at 3.25 quarts and its much better...I dont know how bad yours is yet, but mabye running diffrent fluid at the recommended lower level will buy ya some time...
