No you don't. There is an adapter that is about $40 on Crutchfield that allows you to use the factory amps.

Thats not true. You just need to get a control module and adapters. But shops can do it easy. But i just rewired everything for my own piece of mind. Yanking out that Mach pos was the first mod i did. Went with alpine speakers, JVC deck, kenwood 1500 watt amp and 15000 watt kenwood comp sub. Sounds much better than stock [sm=partyparty.gif]

when i called cruchfield about what head unit to use they told me that i would only have to replace the head unit ANDboth amps.. not rewire every speaker. but any way i have to hit the cd player EVERYTIME it changes disks and keep a pair of tweaser to take out disks but what can you sh*t happens!!!

Only had my stang for a few months, but I've never even tried the CD player yet. I've just been using a FM transmitter with an MP3 player.

Yeah I get pissed at my factory 6 CD changer. Once in awhile, the CD's get jammed or won't even play. But its nice having an indash CD changer...[sm=Awwww.gif]

no problems here, i dont treat mine like a piece of ****. i love my 460, works and sounds great. plus aftermarket head units look ugly and are hard to use with the small buttons. i like the uniform and clean look of the stock unit, itsdesigned to match the rest of the car.
