I have a 1998 mustang cobra with a 4.6 dohc and im getting an engine rattle between 2000 and 3000 rpm. Im not sure what it it is but im worried about it. if anybody knows anything just let me know, it will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Are you sure it is coming from the engine compartment and not your exhaust? At least on my car, between 2-3K is the sweet spot where my exhaust starts rattling my teeth

If you have a custom tune, try unloading it and see if it still continues with the stock tune. Mine rattles (light detonation) during those same rpm's when my tune is loaded. Make sure you run the highest octane you can as well. On my tune, I just went in and backed the timing down in those rpm's, and also made the a/f ratio a little richer. Fixed my problem. A dyno-tune would probably also fix mine.

my exhaust rattles at those RPM's. At first is was the left side. Cut the hanger back and welded it directly to tailpipe. Right side was fine......til about a week ago and gotta do it all over again....
