Default Speeding tickets in Virginia

It's safe to say that in the state of Virginia they are pretty seriousabout punishing people for driving too fast. I got clocked doing 91 in a 65, on I-81 south near Woodstock. The fine came to exactly $666.00 even.Good thing I'm not superstitious!

We have those new "Civil Remedial Fees" and since you were doing reckless speeds, you probably charged with reckless, yes?

And I believe that fine is like $350... + cout costs, etc.

This is kind of on topic, I was pulled over tonight for misuse of power, speeding (40 in a 25), and apparently I have an "illegal exhaust, which is clearly over the legal decibal limit" by a State Trooper. This dude was not in a good mood, he nearly ripped the registration and license out of my hand, and he told me there was absolutley no reason for my exhaust to be that loud and that he wanted to know where it was inspected (my work). As I was telling him that the exhaust was legal, he walked off. He came back, threw the registration and license in my lap and said "You're all set, I have to go". Then he took off like a bat out of hell in his charger. I'd say I'm pretty lucky, it probably helps that I have a completely clean record though save for a written warnings here and there.

Chill out dude. He wasn't crying about anything. He was just stating the fact that we Virginians are crazy when it comes to making people pay for their ticket.

And if some kid is playing on a street with a 65MPH speed limit, he deserves to get hit.
