supercharger/turbo???

RE: supercharger/turbo???
It seems as if anyone her that hasn't ever had any type of F/I always says supecharger. But people that have will probably almost always prefer a turbo because they are better in every way. You get full boost on a 62mm at around 3300 to 3500 rpm whereas as centri you just are beginning to build boost. Low end power is not affected because you dont have a big power robbing slug sapping all your power and you fuel effieciency is considerably better (at least 3mpg better). Not to mention the amounts of torque a turbo makes over centri's. Its your choice but being that I have had both the Turbo is a much better choice any day.

It's your decision and all, but I wouldn't suggest taking a loan out to mod your car. Not a very wise financial decision.
However, your answer all depends on what you want out of the car. You can get more than enough power for a stock engine car with a supercharger. So, if you will be fine with that, a supercharger is great. A turbo will give you great power as well, but they are generally more expensive.
After you get whatever you decide on installed, you will want to get the car dyno tuned. That is the best way, and will ensure that it is safe.
Your stock drivetrain will be fine, so long as you don't beat the hell out of the car.
Edit: I just read your sig and saw that you have long tube headers. If you get a turbo, you will have to get rid of those since they would not work with a turbo.

Turbo lag is not an issue anymore. Even the rear mount sts systems have hardly any lag. Just don't go with a super huge turbo.
