Default What is the difference of shorty vs. long tube headers

I just got a 2002 4.6L GT, Is there a real difference between the two styles of headers. I want a specific sound and am affraid of buying and then not like it.

Shortys are usually not worth it at all. From what i hear.

longer
better flowing
the best
harder to install
more expensive

but in the end it all comes down to...all the cool kids have em

Basically it's Long Tubes or keep the stockies. No real gain with shorties.

Sound wise their shouldn't be a noticable difference. LTs might perhaps be a bit louder, but that's all speculation.

Incorrect. I've done them both. Shortys are a lot easier to install. They get a few less ponies than LT's.
