Default Headlight **** 2000 GT

Can anyone help me with how to remove the headlight ****? I had to replace it, and once I put everything back together my dash lights will not come on. all other light will work even the instrument pointers work but not the dash lights. I would like to trouble shoot but I cant get the knew headlight **** off. I have checked fuses and I spot checked a 20 that was blown. I replaced that but still nothing. I dont have a manual either so i really didnt know which fuse was for what. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer on any of these issues. Thanks

there might be a short in the headlight switch. same thing happened to my 95 mustang. when you would pullthe ****,eather all the lights would work but the headlights or everything but the dashlights would work. i just had to push in or pull out on **** till everything worked. replaced the switch a year later and itworked like new.

NOOOO! Just don't pull it off, it's hard to get off for a reason!!! Pull the **** to the on position, look at the ****, there will be an indention on it, use a screw driver and push on the tab in the slot, it will release the ****. As far as the lights not working, did you check the fuse yet? Sometimes it might blow the fuse after changing that switch.
