Hello all. I have a stock 96 gt automatic. Can anyone advise me as to what I need to do to my ride to get the power, torque, needed to beat a stock 6 speed 2002 corvette. Is it possible without having to change the heads, cam? If nitrous is suggested. Can the pistons in the 96 gt handle it?

Note: the car does run strong for what it is. But it does have 145,000 miles on it.

you are smoking some serious ganja...your 4.6 2v NPI doesn't have a rats chance...especially with your mileage, any power mods you do are likely to cause a failure real quick

switch to a PI motor, then a supercharger...that'll get you where you can at least keep his tail-lights in sight. you'll need a 03/04 Cobra and lots of supporting mods to play in Vette territory dude

Buy a 4v and some forged pistons and rods + a kenne bell.With just nitrous you dont stand a chance.

Dude what are YOU smokin, 2002 vette put 350-375hp Z06 put 405hp. A Termi to be in their terriory?? I have a stock 02Roush GT, procharged i can take those vettes (not speaking on the z06, yet). Not to mention a termi STOCK willtake a stock02 vette.

As for what you need, id say forged internals and a s/c of some kind runnin high boost and a change of gears...just takin a guess

That looks like the motor for the Z06, or is that the motor in all the vettes

What? A stock 02 vette does not have 400hp. The z06 came stock with 405hp, a regulare C5 vette isnt ****. Ill take them all day long... Z06 pulls hard as hell, so you might as well not even try with that.


Back to the OP..... I would just get some nitrous... Works for me.
