I have done everything myself, however, I usually pay to get my oil changed and just watch to make sure they do it. I live in a condo, so they don't really like you working on your car. When I was installing the Cobra brake conversion I was told that I can't do that. Too bad for them I was already about done.[8D]

For the bigger jobs, like the gears and the intake manifold, I went to a buddy's house and we did it there. The extra pair of hands came in handy as well.

+1 This saturday im replacing the condensor for the A/C and the driver side motor mount.
Do you have an A/C machine to recover all the refrigerant out of the system, and recharge it when you're done?

Doh!!

The funny trend I see, with a lot of folks that do work on their own cars is not so much for the enjoyment, as it is cheaper.. I mean, don't get me wrong, when it comes to doing most jobs on my car, I have no reservation that I can handle the job.. There are times in the past though, where more problems came up, and it probably would've been easier (definitely not cheaper) to have someone else do it.. What's the use though?? I'm not retarded.. Or, at least not mechanically retarded..

ez lube ftw.horror stories arelike saying you wont go to jack in the box anymore because some guy somewhere got poisoned. They're privately owned, some places are good, some places are bad. I pay 65 full synthetic. It's once every 3 months, so i'm not complaining.

+1 I had a dealer swap head gaskets on my 1990 supercoupe when I was 16, but everything since then has been done by me. I really don't trust other people with my car. I have worked with cars for about 10 years and have seen how many places treat vehicles being serviced. I haven't found anything so far that I couldn't tackle so far especially on the mustang.
