Default SCT help

ok few questions...

changing spark... i can change it from -8 to 0...which would be best for performance? 0 right?

traction control... i think i turned it off...its raining out so i tested it but didnt have much room...peeled out in first all the way to redline, the light came on but i didnt feel traction control turn on....did a donut in a court and i didnt notice the light come on and i didnt feel it either...peeled out again and took it to 5000rpm in first, the light came on, still didnt feel it...but i kept on it and banged into second and then i felt it studder...but i dont know if thats because i chirped and lost traction due to the wet road or if it was TC....if its turned off, does the light still come on??

economy tune...i tried loading the canned economy tune, and i set my gear ratio and all that and my speedo was 10-15 slow ....wtf? set it back to the 93 tune i have

ok just went on the SCT site...theres an upd ate... ill update and try again i guess...still confused on the timing thing, wouldnt advanced timing be + instead of - ?

Issues Fixed:
1. Fixed custom tune not running user options
2. Fixed Read DTCs to tell user if there is an error reading DTCs
3. Fixed user options not being applied to tune file
4. Fixed Livelink initializing Pass-Thru datalogging only on Main Menu and Performance menu issue.

i responded to your other post in the tech section....

you want to ADD timing....so look for the plus signs.

negative numbers means you are taking "x" degress out.

oh alright thats what i thought...its got a 93 tune and its at 0 in all the setting...no ping or anything and it runs great...as for the traction control and stuff ill try the update....the whole updating process looks complicating as hell with the computer programs you have to install....prob just spend an hour or so in my car trying to figure it out on my laptop...grr

yeah, i have never used livewire myself.....but ive seen screen shots, and i could see how it could get confusing.

so is she running any better with the spark advanced??

as far as the traction control goes.....if there isnt anything that says "trac. cntrl - off", then i dont know....in my 04 it doesnt have traction control, AT ALL. ...like....the button where it normally is, is just a block solid, un-pushable button. i personally would not want traction control on....ever.....but thats just me.

oh and i loaded the economy tune and i had to remove my IAC mod because the car barely ran lol...im back to performance though, screw it i should be getting a gas saver shortly anyways...oh and the car runs better with the timing advance, but not anything like "OMG!!!" i needed to fix my gear ratio since i have 3.73s, and the livewire was free....thats the only reason i have it over a speedcal...although i leave it in data log mode while im driving so i have digital gauges instead of having to look down at analogue i can just glance to my right slightly and its all there, temps, rpm, speed, anything i want to program

badass mod, but if it wasnt free,i wouldnt be able to justify the money

its kinda big, and ive moved it since this pic...moved it down and left a little bit... the wire goes up my dash then tucks in by the windshield, runs down the side of the dash like where the door jam is, then under the dash and its tucked up in there, to the ODBII port

haha yeah the gains from upping your timing arent going to be like you just slapped on a blower, or sprayed a 100 shot of nos.....but the gains are there, for sure.

so do you leave that thing hooked up? or do you just hook it up, when you want to datalog or something...
