rpm problem

Default rpm problem

hello guys

i have problem with my 03 mustang gt

some time when i drive my car and i stop in the traffic

the rpm go in 1000 when i put it in P

or some times when i close the car for 30 min or hour or watever .. after that i start the engine the rpm go in 1000 also .. i close the engine and then for the 2nd time i start the engine its normal on 600 rpm

please tell me what the problem

I think I understand what you are saying.......... Your idle might be set too high, a handheld tunner can fix that.

sounds like another IAC valve needs to be cleaned because it is getting stuck open. i dont have the link but im sure someone who does will chime in and throw it your way to show you how to clean it. i had the same problem with my car...and word of advice...just take your car out and just get on ita couple of times. should clean it out for the most part. thats what i would suggest you try before buying a tuner.

+1 i had that problem too and cleaning the IAC solved my prob.

what did you use??? did you use the suggested method by taking it off and cleaning it or did you do the more primal thing and just go out and hammer it a couple times???

so if i go to the agent what i must tell them

cleaning the IAC??

cuz if the rpm 1000 i cant put it in D or R
it will go like shift kit and its not good for the gear

i dont know im new on mustangs

well i think that you should go out and floor it a couple times and see if that helps out at all. how many miles are on your car and what kind of driving has it seen???

Clean the IAC... even if it ends up not fixing the problem it ain't a bad idea.
