Default Mobil 1 vs. Royal Purple

Im still debating on whether or not to change to royal purple products. I have been using Mobil 1 5w20 full synthetic for over 100k miles and it has always been good. I havent tried royal purple but everyone seems to like it. I got the order on american muscle for $30.50 for my 5 qts, but still weary about ordering.
what do you guys think?

Mobile 1 or AMSOIL, I have run that stuff forever.

IMO royal purple is just a bunch of crap/hype. But thats just my .02, I really have no backing behind my statement.

Carroll Shelby says he'll put his name on that product i seen the commercial!!! i use Mobil1 synth BTW,the only kool thing about it is that it is purple and Carroll Shelby likes it. i haven't really seen to many things about it cept on the spike show "Horsepower tv" they did an oil change with their project nitemare car which is a sn-95 mustang it gained 8 HP with the swap. so that was kind of crazy i quess.

+1

I am with defcon. I run Mobil 1 in my cars. I don't think RP is going to be any better. To be honest I would worry about using the best filter. Everyone is going to have an oil that they like the best. You will never feel the difference though.

Preference again for filters.

Either of those are going to work fine. Just don't spend $2.50 on a Fram.

+1 for Motorcraft filter and Mobil-1 5W20. Buy both at WalMart, save money, change frequently.

Of course Carroll Shelby put his name on it...because they paid him to. I'm sure the stuff is just fine. I've used Amsoil in my car, but I'm switching to Mobil1..it's like $20 for a 5 quart jug at walmart. Amsoil is way more than that. You can't go wrong with Mobil1.
Filters..Mobil1 or NAPA Gold for me. So just stick with the Mobil1, you won't notice a thing switching to RP other than having less money in your pocket.
