Replacing ABS module, PITFA!
what is the best/easiest way to remove and replace the ABS module from a 2002 GT?
i was under the impression it would take me at the most a half hour.....................
nope, i got the replacement module from MPS.... and this thing is filthy, i hope it frekkin works
i started to do the repair in their parking lot and i got to where i was about to try to take off my module and man this thing is awkward. so i had to abort it. i will try again tomorrow morning.
do i have to/should i remove the front bumper to get to it? how long should this realistically take me? i have stands, i dont have a lift anything i should watch out for?

FINISHED!!!! and it works!!!
i guess it really wouldnt be that big of a PITA if i didnt have my car all "customized" i have my ballasts bolted to the inner fender well where the front bumper cover bolts thru. please i have a bunch of wires zip tied all up in there.
so yes i discovered that it is much MUCH easier if you take off the front bumper cover to replace the ABS module. with my altered bumper cover it took me about 2hrs start to finish (clean up and test drive). so im sure if you have a stock setup you could do it in about an hour.
the light now goes off right after i start the engine and i can now turn off traction control, everything is functioning as it should. the module came out of a silver '03 GT w/ traction.
saved about $1000 getting the part and doing it myself vs what my dealer wanted for the repair!

phhsss who needs abs lo. you can stop better with out abs and your cars lighter with out the unit and what not. haha. wouldnt recommend it though to "nub" drivers. kinda dangerous if you don't know how to stop correctly.
