I got to be behind one of those dragsters while I was staging today, and see it make a 7.1 @ 199mph, my god, talk about an incredible experience being that close while a car that fast is taking off.

don't they run close to a pure methanol mix? I love the smell of methanol burning, nothing says power like the scent of 120 octane

EDIT: but no, I couldn't smell it considering I was wearing a helmet and my windows were closed.

that's top fuel, I don't think the regular dragsters that run ~7 seconds are running the same thing, but I could be wrong

but yeah, I know all about nitromethane

EDIT: I guess what I'm talking about is pro, super pro, or jr dragsters. I'm horribly unfamiliar with anything drag racing oriented

oh, then you are correct. Most traditional dragsters and funny cars ran on Alcohol or some rich blend of Methanol.
