the swap was probably either a RB25DET(2.5L I6 single turbo) or an RB26DETT(2.6L I6 twin turbo). and if that car had that motor in it...it is nothing to mess with at all.

one of my friends has a stock sr20det zenki s14. and its about as fast as me untill 70 then he starts to walk me slowly. but my other friend with a fully built drift/track sr20det kouki s14 will run a 11's 1/4 mile and owns everything on the freeway. so it all depends.

i ran 2 240s in the past week and they both beat me ;(. first one was my buddy who baught a front clip from japan and made it into a right side drive car. he has the sr20 motor with a gt30r turbo only runin 7lbs, front mount, full exhaust and i think thats it. the car isnt tuned or anything. we went from a 45 roll- about 115 and he has half a car on me. the second one also had a sr20 swap in it with some big a$$ turbo on it. we went from a 30 roll and he managed to out buss lenght on me by the time we hit 100.

To beat these guys with big turbos or twin turbo setups, I think you gotta have forced induction. I'm extremely interested in this thread because a guy I go to school with is currently getting ready to install a turbo on his 240, which he also got bored out a little and forged. He doesn't have that much money, it's not a skyline engine. By the time he has his turbo in, I should have a kb 2.1 s/c in there.. which in that case, I think I'll have my way with him.

+1 you'll definately beat that car with a KB. Good luck with that build. it seems from what I've seen the average car like a 240, integra, etc. that gets turbocharged with moderate (8-10 psi) boost is about as fast as a stock new edge.

Nissan motors are very good motors. If nothing else, this is a prime example of what solid engineering will do for you.

I would love to do a sr20 swap with a nice sized turbo and give some v8 nutswingers a wake up call.

i had a 93 240sx and loved that little car. Twas slow as heck but it deffinatly had potential. For a small car it has a huge engine bay. I would love to get one back and throw a 5.0 at it. jsut cause 5.0 can be built for so cheap and really it wouldnt have to make much power for that little car to be fast becuase they are so light. Those cars suffer horribly from their tranny and rear end. The tranny is out of the frontier or what ever the small nissan truck was and the rear end has CV's which are good for about 0 tq.
