thanks, luckily the paint hasn't been affected by the heat coming off of the pipes, they dont really get too hot anyway. i could smell the paint a little when the car was running while i was back there but the paint is holding up fine

lets see how it looks in a couple months... bet that paint starts melting or flaking... looks good now though... I hope Im wrong... I might have to add that to the mods list!

lol i used high heat barbeque grill paint originally but didnt like it so i went back out and bought some krylon normal exterior satin black. I took a look at the pipes and theyre fine and its been a week. i feel them after long rides like as close as i can feel to the muffler and theyre warm but not hot. and thats like right after the axle

I just discovered this thread, as I was somewhat considering doing the same thing on my Mineral Grey GT.

How is the black paint holding up, now that it's been quite a while?

I use bbq paint for various things on my fox bodies. its like a flat black and can hold up to some high heat. i really like it for painting the rotors.

No the rotors.. not the actual part the pads come in contact with.. the hub part. I knew someone was going to think that.

LOL no.. I tape off the part the pads touch and paint the rest. looks really nice when you get done. That way when u have the car on jack stands with the wheels off it doens look like a complete rusted POS lol
