Default 2000 lincoln continental 4v motor: Will it fit?

just found a 2000 lincoln continental 4v motor for really cheap. Only has 63K on it. Was wondering if would be a possible swap into my 2004 gt. Looking to buy this within the next 24 hours. Input as soon as possible would be greatful thanks.

Your gt body is the same body as a cobra, that 4v lincoln motor is the same as a cobra. So easy answer is yes it will fit.

found an article where it said bell housing mating was different and motor mounts where different, as well as oil filter and starter being on the wrong side. I think the best bet for straight swap would be a mark engine. This brings me to my next question. Are the continental heads relatively the same as the cobra/mark heads. I am assuming that the heads all share the same bolt pattern and accessory bracket mountings. Just want to be 100% sure. This motor is so cheap that even if it isnt an engine that will swap in if the heads will work then i will still buy it. Thanks a lot for any of your input. Havent dealt with the ford family a lot so im kinda new to this all.

OK, go here http://mustangboards.com/modular-4-6...you-opine.html

If you have questions talk to redneck.

First same motor mounts
Second you will need a new hood because the motor wont clear.
This swap is identical to a cobra R so it will fit, however they say that the 4v is a really really tight fit.
How cheap are you finding the motor?

pretty much 100 percent sure it wont fit. 2000 lincoln continental should be fwd in which case the block is a different bolt pattern to accept a transaxle.

I thought the Lincoln MARK VIII was the motor to use??
As mentioned above the Lincoln Continetal is a FWD car and may not work.
