That's a good deal...I know plenty of people who have spent upwards of $600 for parts/labor. If I could get out the door parts/labor for $467, I'd get them tomorrow.

I didn't see that it was for parts and labor. But I doubt the dealership knew what he was talking about when he called and asked.

Yeah my guess is they had no idea what I was talking about. I think when he said parts he meant no gears. So my guess is that the "parts" he was talking about was the installation kit, gear fluid, etc.. But, i wasn't sure I think I might stop over at the dealership tommorrow and get it clarified. I will have to tell him that i will supply the gears.

Finally the last shop wanted $275 plus tax. The guy said he would need the gears plus the install kit. Idk what to do. so all together with the last shop i would be pushing 600 bucks for gears and install. Anyone in upstate NY know any good places? Or feel free to comment on how much crack the dealerships are smoking. thanks!
was going to say 600 is a little on the high side. what you paid for that is a good deal.

actually to my surprise. this is really weird but ONE time a dealership was actually cheaper then having a private shop do an install. i was all like wtf but some times there cheap, and you know for the most part they'll do it right. so its some times worth a call to a dealership. but more then likely its cheaper to take it else where. just thought id throw that in there. but ya gear install is can be prices if you don't check around. my friends paying 600bucks for install of 4.10's on his new AUTO gt and a dyno tune.

My dealer charges a flat labor rate of like $91.50/hr.. and a rebuild is like 4.5-6hr book time

all of the dealerships around here go by booktime too. sucks.

Don't mean to go off topic but I had an accord and needed pullies installed (pullies were hard to install on this car so I didn't even chance it). One dealership told me 12 hours of labor while dealerships in California were charging 1.5hrs. Some dealerships are horrible. Well, most.
