do i need a boost guage??

as i said, im keeping my power levels down if i do decide to install this. i just cant afford for my tranny or engine or anything else to break. 330-350rwhp is more than enough for me at my age...

i will probably add an intercooler as i get more money and such. i'm just trying to price out how much this is all going to be.. and im trying to decide if i want that jet-engine blower lol. it sounds really loud on videos

do i need to reflash the ECU that comes with the blower?? do i need a new MAF?

and thanks for the avatar comments ! i like it too <3 haha
80mm maf will be good for you application good for 400rwhp and yes you will need to flash the ecu most important step. lol and 330-350rwhp will get old quick you will always want more! boost gauge is always good, fuel pressure and a/f also. thats what i use but that is not a must right now those can wait. as long as you have a custom tune you should be fine they will tell you your a/f, timing and boost.

im not worried about hiding it.. im not going for the sleeper look, especially after this spring when my car is going to "look" mean.. or should i say look meaner than it already is

but im not worried about hiding the thing, i just dont want it to annoy me, or anybody else in my car.. i love this car more than anything.. i love my exhaust bc its loud, but i can control it if i keep the Rpm's down, etc.. i jsut dont want this thing being so loud that i cant take it on trips and nobody wants to ride in my car anymore ya know??

but i really do want the blower and i should ahve the money to do it for spring.. stupid dilemma..

is the v1 THAT loud?? you heard it fire up. and i know somebody who drove a stang with the v1.. he said "it's really loud, but thats how i like it" hahahaha.. i've listened to video's online and such and it sounds really loud, like you can hear it from a block away lol..

but i dont think i can pass this deal up.

You're getting a new computer with your supercharger kit? That doesn't make any sense.... do you mean you're getting a chip? You need to find a local tuner or by software like sniper and reprogram you're fuel and timing tables.

ok i got a chip with my kb setup but yes in your situation deff get the car to a professional tuner asap or you will be paying alot more than 2k. chips can be reflashed alot of tuners perfer you using either a sct or diablo handheld tuner. but like i said get it on a dyno or you will regret it. see i did not have to do this in my setup since kb sends a chip with their kits that are safe a good. but my goals are i want the most hp out of my kit and also keeping it below the breaking point, so this spring i am getting it custom tuned.

i still dont understand.. i have a chip, i have a diablosport, i have a dyno..

can i just tune the chip using my tuner???? i'll make the tune myself with the help of hopefully ox or whoever else is knowledgable.. im sure my mechanic knows what he is doing..

so can i jsut tune the chip using my tuner, work the bugs out, than fine-tune it from the dyno??

this is all new to me. i need to familiarize myself.. lets say i get everything installed on my car.. the only thing i havent done yet is put the chip in... can i put the chip in, use my handheld tuner to adjust for certain things, start the car, and than start adjusting further from there? than go on the dyno and further tune??

or do i have to send the chip in to get a reflash

you probably could but i would say it is not wise to, just make sure you stay out of boost. i would say, unless you are 100% sure what you are doing, get it to a professional tuner. you state you have a dyno? u have a guy who would tune? idk i would have it on a dynojet and have a professional tuner tune the chip you have. you do not even have to tune the chip, you could have a tuner put a couple tunes on the handheld, like a street tune, or a track tune.

You don't need the chip if you have a Predator handheld. The tuner will reflash YOUR STOCK ECU and can store multiple tunes in it without the need for a chip.

You need to look into using the 98 ECU in a 2001GT. Don't think that's gonna work. If theres nothing wrong with yours, theres not reason to swap it out.

I think that's the confusion here. You can use either the chip OR the predator. The predator will load the tune into your ECU. The chip is physically attached to your ECU. Take your pick. I would go with just loading the tune into the car using the predator.
