Default Should i supercharge? or not..

I came across this great deal on a used vortech v1 s-trim.. comes with everything (98 GT bracket asembly, anderson powerpipe, 42lb injectors, ECU, etc) for $1000...

i'm still finding information about the blower itself, but this sounds like a great deal.. all i will have to do is buy the new bracket assembly ($315 shipped) since my car is an 01', a fuel pump ($125 shipped from lethalperformance for a new svt focus fuel pump), and i need to buy a new belt? i'm not sure which belt i would have to buy, but i know that belts come with the bracket assembly.. idk

what do you guys think??

do i need to reflash the ECU?

i'm only trying to push 350whp MAX, so do i even need to upgrade the MAF/fuel pump?

do i need a wideband to constantly check my air/fuel??

i'm worried about spending too much on "extra's" that i might need and possibly not liking how loud the blower is. but i do have a beater if i get sick of my car.. idk

opinions and info please!!!

thanks

When I bought my used kit I had to buy a new bracket and it came with a belt and I bought a 8lb pulley it came with a belt too. I got a brand new svt focus fuel pump off ebay for 90 shipped so look into that. And I'd say do it if the head unit is good.

yes you would need a dyno tune you dont need to change MAF or fuel pump but do suggest getting a kenne bell Boost-a-pump just to be safe. stock maf is good for around 400rwhp. im currently running my setup with stock 80mm maf, 36lb injectors and stock fuel pump with boost-a-pump.

People really under estimate how good a BAP is.

I'd say go for it if you have about $3K to spend. Even if the S/C is only $1000 all the little things will add up. Personally I'd talk to a tuner before even buying anything and seeing what he reccomends. I'd also look into stuff like prices of the boost-a-pump, the SVT focus fuel pump, the injectors, the wideband, and maybe even a bigger MAF. If you have the money to do it the right way the first time I'd say go for it, but you won't be happy with 350 whp for too long.

If you have a good tuner that you trust you don't really need a wideband. So I really don't see this working it's way to $3k. I did my whole kit, intercooler, vortech mini race and tune for a little less then that so you should have no problem doing it for less then that.

install and tune will be done by myself/my mechanic.. he/they are VERY knowledgable.. i trust them with anything on my car.

i dont see this peaking $3k... hopefully not even $2k.. i was trying to limit it at $1500..

do i need a boost guage??

as i said, im keeping my power levels down if i do decide to install this. i just cant afford for my tranny or engine or anything else to break. 330-350rwhp is more than enough for me at my age...

i will probably add an intercooler as i get more money and such. i'm just trying to price out how much this is all going to be.. and im trying to decide if i want that jet-engine blower lol. it sounds really loud on videos

do i need to reflash the ECU that comes with the blower?? do i need a new MAF?

and thanks for the avatar comments ! i like it too <3 haha
