however, to throw a 'curve' in this sti/evo nonsense...if i had a 'fast' non-DD car, id pickup something more plush/luxury. Something like a G35, iS300, CTS which are all RWD...not sure how well you drive in the snow/ice
i'd trade my mustang in a heartbeat for an Evo 8...but the mustang is the wifes 'dream' car so she has it...
good point, I don't know why I was considering getting anything else
seriously.. if you are worried so much about insurance get a Civic for 4k or w/e that grandmas had for years and drive that. then you get to keep your stang

I'ts cool the money on my money tree is almost ripe, then I won't mind that my insurance will more than double when I get an STi.
EDIT: But seriously, I wasn't asking for a second car here...I said I wanted 1 DD. I got a lot of good input from others, I typically like your advice...just not in this situation.
the best advice is to buy a 4k or so dollar beater and keep/ buy a mustang to mess with.

TRADE MY Mach 1 HOOD + scoop set up for easy GT install (attached, no intake system necessary, unless you want it) for a COWL hood and maybe STOCK + CASH (but probably not). The hood is painted silver, in great shape, does need a color sand, but thats no biggie. Would prefer a swap for a silver one, but will consider many options. Need to trade due to changed plan on this car. RTP/Greensboro/Charlotte
Why is it so expensive for an STI? its an AWD vehicle= better control..usually and its only 300hp..
I think it is mainly because the car is worth about twice as much, so I am assuming that insurance companies feel that its cool to therefore double the premium. But yeah I was very confused as well considering they are safer in several respects (more and better safety equip./design...plus the AWD you mentioned)
