Default supercharger question

i always see people boosting 10-11 psi out of ther supercharger. i was wondering is that the max you get out of it or is that just the safest?

and if you wanted more boost is that when you just turbo?

cuz my neighbors has a little speed3 and i think he said he's boosting somewhere around 16psi

It all depends on what kinda SC it is, what kinda pullies are offered and if you can send the SC back to get upgraded.

A supercharger can produce as much boost as a turbo. It all depends on which one you go with. Something like a p-1 can probably be pushed as high as 18 lbs with an 8 rib kit and a small enough pulley. The d-1 can go a little over 20. You could always go with a F-1R and run 25 lbs as well. The turbo makes more power per lb of boost to the rear tires because it doesn't take power to spin it like a supercharger does.

Most people stop at 10 psi because they dont have a built motor and they are scared to blow it up.

I use to run my Vortech T-trim at 20psi with my pulley set-up/tune....but with Cog set-up, I could have run 27-28psi...It's all about the blower & what an engine can handle!
