Hmmm... I've never heard anything about vinyl before, I might have to call my local shop to see what they offer. Were I live there are not very many reparable shops that do tint. They all half a** them, that's why I still don't have tint.

Yep black vinyl is the way to go.

When i brought my car to get the windows tinted they just left the top of the back window with nothing on it b/c of the dot matrix. i was not very happy with the turn out, so they added the black vinyl. its perfect, from the outside of the car you cant tell at all, from the inside (looking in the rear view mirror it just looks like the headliner continues down a little bit) you can tell but not bad. i love it.

On the front windshield, they did use the tint strip and it sticks pretty well. Around the rear view mirror it comes up a little but nothing noticeable.

imo its not worth the time and hassle of sanding down the dot matrix. Vinyl strip FTW!!

I hate asking, but does anyone have any pics from the inside and out when they used the vinyl. This is fairly new to me and I'm curious on how it looks. Little things like a line can bug me...idk why, just me I guess.

Hey thanks, that looks pretty good. I'm defiantly gonna talk to the shop about doing this. Looks way better than just not tinting over the dot matrix, or doing a bad job over them. Looks good.
