Suspension, M/T's, built rear, put a bus or 2 on him before he even gets traction.

hmmmm that is gonna be a tough race... honestly with the weight advantage of the 240 his 300rwhp is gonna seem like more.. and since its rwd and turbo'd it will have some decent torque and decent traction..

if he's smart he wont brake boost fully... he'll spool half way to allow his car to get rolling just a bit before it hits full boost and starts spinning...

but.. if you have the gas... you'll win...

or s/c it and do it over and over and over and over

alright.. so definitely gears now.. I'm leaning toward 3.73s because of wheelspin issues as I add power. I know this sounds stupid, but I'm the kinda guy who would think about this: say I have nitrous in the trunk, and I get rear ended hard enough to crumple the rear a bit. Am I screwed because of possible explosion/projectile from a knocked/damaged nitrous bottle?

Your going to need more than gears.. A 300HP 240 is going to rock your world if you dont have at least 320RWHP. You may get it from a dig the first 100ft but once the turbo spools hes gonna own you.

If you have 2 grand and you can do install yourself. I recommend gears, p&p heads, stage 2 cams, and dyno tune. Nitrous would be the easiest way.

I was thinking the same thing. Seems like a lot of people posting here think that b/c it's an import is going to be a push over. W/o some FI or NO2 you are going to get destroyed, no simple bolt ons are going to solve that.

Gears , spray and some fatter tires will get you the win . I had a Fully built 3.8 w/ a beefed up 7.5' rear end that dyno'd out to 274 hp to wheels (give or take a few horses) and I took down a boosted 240sx (my brothers ). He put down 297 to the wheel when the boost kicked in and was about 200lbs lighter so being that' The biggest mod your gonna need is a driver mod. I beat the 240sx by a half a car length with street tires so you gonna need to practice getting a perfect launch and perfect shifting. Once the blower starts spooling that 240sx will be right there with you so thats where nitrous will be your best friend. Either way , win or loose have fun and be careful.
