Default Short or long tube headers?

Hey I have a 2004 Mustang GT and I am looking at putting on headers. I wanted to know what people recommended and if there is any difference between the short or long tube headers?

Ben

+1 for long tubes. Check out the "knowledge base" section on this site. There's a bunch of info there.

I picked up 6 rwhp/6 rwtq n/a, and 33 rwhp/72 rwtq on the juice! The peak #'s on a n/a car won't be much higher than shorties, but the area under the peak will be higher, and the sound will be much better.

Yes...they are a PITA to install, but so are shorties!

haha itll be a while...im doing my wheels/tires (half way done on that), suspension, and brakes first. then im going to do (hopefully) headers/mid pipe when i do my new heads/cams and get the tune. itll be at least 18 months, gotta get settled into the new town and get intot eh swing of married life...but fear not, i will have a review posted when theyre installed. i havent heard much on them though...not in our scene anyways.

Don't waist your time with shorties, there's not enough power to made from them that actually does anything. The stock manifolds are good enough until you reach a point where you need either the sound to change or to squeeze out that extra 20rw.

Anyone that says they could feel a performance gain from shorty headers is a moron.

Pff... I SO felt a huge gain with my shorties... at least 870rwhp...

@OP: Go LT's, shorties will do almost nothing for you beside make your exhaust a little deeper and louder, but not much at that.
