I ran 14.1 in my convertible, but had a .07 reaction time. At that time, I had an SCT tune and thats it. did this Cecil county, MD
Check out this article from TCI on how they got a slightly (Cams, Intake, and 4.10s) modded 99GT with an auto into the the high 12s with a new converter and their shift kit. The car ran 13.88 with the mods and once the new converter was installed and shift kit, the car ran 13.48 at an 3,400 feet above sea level.... convert that to sea level and that is 12.90s.
May be worth the money?????

Any converter higher than your stock converter is well worth the money. Get a 3200 stall converter and you can still have driveablility on the street while picking up 3-4 tenths. So worth the mod, except expect a good amount of spinning on a stock tire. I would get a more heavy duty trans cooler though if you do that.

Gotcha. I'm not to familar with the conveters tho, how does going above 3200 affect streetability. Does the car have to be 3200rpm to get it moving?

I have seen some fast diesel trucks. You can up the boost and make 500+ HP kind of easy. Saw a F250 4x4 light all 4 tires up...some of those trucks could smoke a Lighting!

You can do some boltons and get some big gains, but lets not forget also that you are trying to move an 8,000 pound truck. It's not as easy as you think to get them in the 13s or even 12s. Determines what you do.
