Default This seem a little quick for a NPI? 0-85 vid.

Got my car running right, save for the EVAP code, so I decided to make a quick 0-85 video. I wasn't even pushing it shifting wise because I was trying to hang on to the camera. Using a stopwatch with the video, I am right around 6.2 seconds for the 0-60, give or take a tenth. That seem a tad quick for a NPI to you?

I know that it has at least 3.55 gears and a B&M short throw. Maybe I am just imagining things, you check it out and see.

Coming from the guy that had the vortech and the Camaro on the spray lol. I know that it's slow, but still seems quick for a NPI. Been looking at videos on youtube and it seems closer to a PI motor than a NPI.

Nope, I rebuilt this motor and it's a NPI. I thought so too the first time I drove it. Even the exhaust is stock. The only thing that I can think of is that it has a set of cams. It damn sure doesn't sound stock either.

I am not going to lie. It does not look much quicker than my 95 5.0 which is basically stock. But mine is slightly lighter. It's a "GTS." Not trying to get off topic, but where in DFW are you from?

Nah, it's a flat road, slightly uphill if anything. Not trying to make my car look good

Yeah, I know that I need gas, but it will still make it to the station.

The 5.0's that I have seen usually seem a tad faster than the 4.6L to 60MPH for some reason, maybe because they make peak torque lower? Could be too that they mysteriously drop from 225HP in 93, to 215HP in 94, just before switching to the 4.6L... I hail from Kaufman, TX. 30 miles south east of DFW.
