im starting to think that myself, but I appreciate all the input. I really have no plans whatsoever to go FI. TO me, I'm basically down to headers and tb/plenum upgrade as far as the basic power bolt ons go. I might go the TB/plenum route.

FI or not, dont be afraid to go 4.10s. Even if you do go FI down the road there are many intelligent ways to deal with having butloads of power and no traction-i.e.-build the rear end/suspension and get some sticky/taller tires if you need them. There are plenty of peeps runnin 4.10s with FI they have simply invested money in setting up their suspension/tires the right way. SO-Go for the 4.10s.

its kinda funny you see threads (like this one) about certain mods and you'll have one guy say yeah I noticed more of a diff from 3.73 to 4.10 than I did from stock to 3.73...then a few posts later you'll get someone saying they didnt notice a damn bit of diff going from 3.73 to 4.10. stock to 3.73 to me was very noticeable. 3.73 to 4.10 statistically isnt as big of a jump as 3.27 to 3.73, but it's close.

Going backwards doesn't tell a single thing with regards to the main question in this thread...
Depends on what you want to do. N/A car? 4.10s If you plan on any kind of forced induction, 4.10s would be too much. So it depends on your plans.

I am debating the 3.73/4.10 decision myself. I wish I could have my car set up with both and decide hat way. But alas, not possible.

Hmm maybe a good idea..

3.90 's sound like an awesome choice for me. I had 4.10's in a 96 NPI GT and it can get old when you drive the highways alot. That and I think it would go better with a blower in the future but 3.90 gears sometimes are more expensive...

If the suspension is there you won't have a problem. I noticed a diff because I can actually launch my car, on the street and hook up great in 1st... Like I said the suspension plays a big roll. I spray the car out of the hole w 4.10s, if I put a blower on it ill keep the 4.10s.

And btw, I drive about 40 miles to work each day, all highway. And I get around 26-27mpg going 80
