My buddy runs the hoosiers on his HP twin turbo'd cobra and he has little problem hooking up. He says that they stick really well...and they are on the stock 9 inch wide rim. So you have more tire than he does so you shouldnt have problem hooking. And I'd say that the mickey thompsons are not the greatest in the world. My friend running those exact M/T's on the street said that his nitto's that he has now(305/45-18 i believe) hook better than his M/T's did on the street. Mind you that was for an 18" rim. So just food for thought. He did snap his stock axles with the M/T's on at the track launching on the 125 shot. But I would say to look at the tread pattern...the hoosiers have a better contact patch than the M/T's do cus there is only 2 grooves in the tire. So my money would be on the hoosiers. You may also want to look into M&H drag radials. I found a set of 325/45-17's through them. It is a 28" tall drag radial for a 17" tire. It said the comparable race size would read to be 10.5/28.0R17. Heres the link
Give those a look too. Might be too much tire for what youre looking at but I thought id throw it out there. Plus it does have a very similar tread pattern to the M/T's and my dad's friend who used to race back in the 60's said M&H's were all he would run on his cars and he said they were the best drag tires hes seen. Just another "food for thought" idea.

thanks, the M&H's look good but I don't want to run a 28 on my 17's. once you figure in shipping the Hoosiers are cheaper on eBay, plus I've dealt with the eBay company before. Thanks again though.
Did your friend find the street traction on the hoosiers to be good or did the nittos outperform them as well?
My friend said that the hoosiers blew every other drag radial he has ever ran out of the water. He said no matter where you were, the Hoosiers hooked and he never had a problem with them hooking.

Definitly man. Thats what im using...except im getting the 275/40-17's cus i dont have 10.5 wheels to put them on. But hoosiers are gonna be the best bet for you Id say.

Hoosiers are awesome tires. I've used countless different slicks for the track, and nobody has ever beaten the hoosiers performance wise.
In my race against the GTR on the streets, I was running the race tires, and they stuck on the street very, very well, and that was during winter, with like 55* temps.
That however was the only time I've played around on the streets with anything more than a street radial

go with the 315... 335 is way too wide.. IT WILL FIT, BUT ITS POINTLESS WHEN YOU STOP ADDING TO THE CONTACT PATCH...
335 fits OK on an 11inch wheel, i think it would be about perfect on an 11.5+ wheel
I have ran both MT and hoosiers in alot of different sizes..
Hoosiers last half as long
hoosier are alot worse for turns
hoosiers are lighter
Hoosiers need to be warm before they will hook
My car has spent over 15k miles on drag radials...
hoosiers are cheaper, and easier to get a hold of when you need a new set..

I like the hoosiers.. even though the MTs might actually be a tad better tire..
At the track, with a stick shift... hoosier blows the others out of the water..
They have better recovery and a wider window for HOOK.
