Default What is sacrilegious to do to a Cobra / Bullitt / Etc

So I am curious, what mods are sacrilegious to perform on a Cobra / Bullitt or any other "special" Mustang.

The reason I ask is that I love my car, but in my heads Cobras, Bullitts and other special editions are unique. They get different wheels, hoods, etc.

Have any of you guys ever regretted a mod or am I crazy?

I have a 2001 Cobra, I wouldn't mind a different hood/wheels but I am starting to think I should keep the appearance stock.

Opinions?

Any body kit from Mr. Bodykit pretty much. There's a guy in the Ft. Hood area with a Bullitt that has an Evo 5 front and Salleen everything else. Absolutely hidious.

I love the somewhat understated stock look. The Steeda stuff(hood/wing) look amazing when combined with the 99-01 Cobra front end though.

Painting the interior, putting "bling" style 20" rims on, neons, euro lights, all that crap.

Blasphemy!

rims are the only thing you should change. everything else is overkill and takes away from the car. if you had a GT then yea it wouldnt be a problem. when it comes to look and appearance, less is more!!!

If its a mach 1, bullitt, cobra, saleen, roush.. it should stay like that. you paid good money to buy a special edition.. keep it that way. Just my .02 but if I had one like that you can bet money I would not change 1 thing on the exterior except maybe wider wheels in the same style.

Basicly what HOSS said.... Something that makes me want to sacrifice small kittens is when i see a real Bullit that someone has put a spoiler on......

My buddy has an 01 Cobra that looks exactly like yours, all he did was lower it 2" and put a cowl hood on it (or cobra R) and it looks amazing!

IMO that is the only drawback to the 01 Cobra is that they put a plain V6 hood on it..

I say keep your front and rear bumpers. If you want to change your hood go with a 2000 Cobra R hood. You can also change up your side skirts to 03/04 cobra ones. As far as performance you can anything you feel like doing. That's the best thing about owning a mustang.

Just remember, Don't put Bullitt wheels on a cobra.
