Since these heads are thus far, so good, wouldn't it be an upgrade even for the 4v guys because of the better flowing numbers, springs and less reciprocating mass?

I would go ahead and say it probably not an upgrade for the 4v guys. This is likely a fairly heavily cammed car.. 99-01 cobras can get to the 320 rwhp range with full boltons and with cams can hit around ~370-380 rwhp.
Besides the 4v's tend to make much more linear power than the 2v's which can be good for some applications.
I'd say if you have a 4v keep it a 4v and just add some cams if you still want more n/a power.
I just asked what he means by "ported" and if he had stock valves. If it's a home port and stock valves then those numbers are less impressive. Good catch Aer
Results are impressive, but it says the original setup with ported pi heads was taken all the way up to run 18.... Why the hell would they need 18 runs to get an average baseline hp/tq measurement.
Just looks fishy because after the swap its on run 3. More than likely the car was already tuned to the ported heads. Maybe they loosened up the tune a bunch to give a more impressive readout?

The car is run in the American Iron series and is handicapped by power to weight. Therefore it was tuned or de-tuned to make 305rwhp for it's race weight. So we can figure the original combo could/should make more than 305 rwhp. Also the heads raised the compression ratio one full point. That in itself will give good hp and torque gains. So in my opinion we still have no "real world" results at this time. MD is in the business of selling products such as the TF head and we know results can be manipulated very easily.

For a fully built 2v to put down only 305rwhp and 316rwtq isnt that great. And to gain 50rwhp over that number by just doing these heads id say is impressive. And the fact that the power starts out the same and grows gradually over the entire rpm band says a lot about these heads that they dont just make peak power but broaden the hp and torque curve overall which is an awesome feat in my opinon. I would like to see a direct swap from completely stock to these heads and some custom grind cams to see how the power curve and drivability would be affected by these things. I always had extreme faith in these heads and I think after seeing these results, I feel I was right.
