X is more raspy, H is more traditional muscle car sounding. Hit up youtube, you'll hear what we are talking about.

X=race car, H=muscle car, Prochamber=muffled race car. Different mufflers sound better with each different midpipe. So it all depends on what you like. Like others have said, youtube and streetfire are your best friend on this subject. Also, go to local car shows and ask people about their cars and ask to hear them. Nothing will help you choose better than real world examples.

I like x pipes too. But the o/r x and flows are starting to clap too much for me. Trying to swap catbacks because i dont wanna give up the o/r x.

You'll have to give it up. I tried to hang onto my o/r x too, with 40's, 50's, and even MAC; but I just couldn't do it. Switched to an h and haven't looked back.

Well i have a pypes and it seems to clap more so than a bbk design o/r x pipe. I would love to find someone and trade midpipes because im starting to not like the sound of the pypes. Is it true that chambered mufflers can be more raspy than straight through mufflers with an o/r x pipe??? I heard that and i was thinking about going with the new SSS catback or something that is straight through.

I think x pipes as a general rule sound like *** with chambered mufflers. You can get a straight through muffler, but you're going to have more rasp, but it will be a different kind of rasp. I used to have 40's with a pypes o/r x, sounded like unwashed ***. All depends on what you want. If you dig old school really pissed off deep exhaust, I'd say go with MAC and an o/r h, or even keep your 40's and get an o/r h( won't sound as good :P). I was in denial for a long time, I bought a catted x, and a o/r x, and it just wasn't my sound. Switched to the h and i'll never switch back.
