i have 315 nitto drag radials and 3.73s and i hook great, i usually launch at about 3200-3500 rpm and hook and go, however i also have QA1 double adjustable shocks that helped out a lot, if you plan to do any highway driving 4.10s may not be a good idea

Its not like the OP is making 400 hp +. With 4.10s yeah it makes it easier to spin em. I love my 4.10s get them and enjoy them!

i'd recommend 3.73's if your planning on doin a good bit of city/street driving. my boy has 4.10's in his 95 cobra and he gets really crappy gas mileage and almost never goes past 5mph in 1st gear (because its so short), pretty aggravating if you ask me. as someone stated previously, might as well start in second, but that gear aint too long neither

wow..

I have 4.10's in my GT, daily driven for 3 summers and 1 winter now with the gears.
The mileage can still easily reach high teens in the city, and mid 20's on highway.

If you drive normal you can shift normal, 1-2-3-4-5....if I'm bored I occasionally skip a gear for entertainment purposes.

But 1st is nowhere near 'too short' for daily driving. Redline comes somewhere around 20mph I believe.

As for helping your 0-60, it's not going to do a lot, but the car is going to pull harder, and with tires, come off the line a lot harder.

My car with stock suspension and 4.10's with DR's cut 1.8 60's....I'd imagine that an average driver *which I'm not on street tires* could feel an obvious improvement with 4.10's if they know how to launch correctly.

Tell your friend not to WOT around/at every corner, light, and stop sign! as for starting in second... what are we driving gt500s making 700 rwhp on honda civic rims/tires. If you dont have gears dont assume they suck. it is why gears are the 2nd best mod next to a power adders!

I have 4.10's in my GT and I drive it daily its very suitable imho for driving, I have heads and cams and get around 15-17 in town with a pretty aggressive tune. I run 1st out all the time, suits em fine. Thats just my opinion on 4.10's
